Yeah. We build libraries and then publish them to a local pypi server. Then we build co-dependent services with loosely pinned constraints on packages and no constraints on service-versions; then deploy them on k8s; with no testing to validate they work together. So at any one point in time, everything has to be in alignment or it'll probably not work. Then going from database -> customer-eyeballs is a multi-layer-onion affair so everything takes literally months to do. Everyone quit once the govt said COVID was over and they can go outside (lol). So now the opponents to making it a little easier to manage are gone.
