Hi my company currently uses Pants, and I just wanted to explore more around the build system space. Currently evaluating build systems from an ease of use perspective and building boilerplate template repositories for OSS usage.

Hi all! My company doesn't use Pants yet, but we're trying it out to see if it makes our CI build times better (running only affected tests), plus if it helps us adopt modular monolith approach. As a side note, I have a Java/Kotlin background where Gradle build system dominates, and Pants is probably the closest thing I can think of for Python. Hoping to get some support here as we adopt Pants 🙂

We needed a solution to build micro-services since we switched from multi-repository to a monolith and Pants was the solution!

I'm looking at using pants to improve our quasi-monorepo situation -- we have a bunch of projects that are in the same repo, but have independent resolves and are publishing to codeartifact and using versioning, which is a lot of complexity we don't need

Hi everyone! I was so excited to find out about Pants 2 -- I've been looking for a tool which would allow easy automation of static analysis, builds, tests and many other tasks I'd like to standardize across projects, monorepo support and ideally with multiple languages, and was flabbergasted to realize that Pants seems to address all of those issues! Haven't tried it out yet at work, but started today to experiment it on my own to see if I could just "drop it in", well, almost at least ☺️

Hi folks! We recently started using pants at work, and - from the perspective of someone who had already been brainwashed by using bazel for half a decade - it is solving a ton of our problems, and I think it works extremely well. Thank you to everyone who has put in so much hard work on it!

Hi! I recently joined an ML startup (mainly Python) and there are an order of magnitude more repos than people. Code sharing is ridiculously complex and costly here. I've previously worked with and on build systems (make and various permutation, in-house, Bazel w/ RBE, Gradle, etc.). As I know well the steep learning curve of Skylark and Bazel, I'm evaluating options to bring the polyrepo into a mono while; keeping it approachable to engineers and data science, deterministic and reproducible, and something that lessens the gitops/release concerns away of moving to monorepo (ie. something easily able to determine the dirty graph and present only those targets -- so we only test code and output containers that are changed -- thinking this might do it),.

Hello 😀 I've just established a new AI agency named datameister.ai. At the moment, I'm focusing on refining our processes for development, testing, and release. In my previous job, we utilized Bazel, which proved challenging when integrating with our Python stack. However, I've recently begun exploring Pants, and it's revealing how much better pants is a fit! Also very excited about the terraform support!!
