Hi Carina! I’m Brad, a senior SWE at Loblaw Companies Limited (https://www.loblaw.ca/). My team focuses on building backends for ML / Data Science components. I discovered Pants on the Software Engineering Daily Podcast, but have been investigating build tools to incorporate into my team’s workflow. We’re going to be experimenting with pants for both Python and Golang. I know Go is still in alpha, but when we experimented with Bazel, Bazel’s official container image has the latest version at 3.5, and not supporting Bazel 4.2+ features that we wanted to leverage, so we’re looking into other tools, like Pants!

Hi, welcome! I'm one of the maintainers working on Go - please do let us know your experience, including things you find confusing or missing features 🙂 We definitely want to keep improving the experience FYI we recommend *Pants 2.10 for Go over 2.9. We redesigned how third-party dependencies are analyzed based on user feedback

Hi Brad! Let us know how we can help with the eval. We've summarized some of the arguments in favor of Pants here: https://blog.pantsbuild.org/pants-vs-bazel/
Some "pro-pants-ganda", if you will...

I’ll for sure spend some time with Pants 2.10! Thank you for the recommendation! This blog post definitely resonates with my personal experiences with Bazel, thank you so much for putting this together and sharing it!
