Hello everyone! I am Dheeraj and currently in the phase of exploring pants as a build system for a Python monorepo at my company. I came across this Slack workspace while going through the docs and figured I could use this community for any help I might need along the way! Looking forward 🙂

Welcome! Let us know if you have any questions or feedback 🙂
I'm curious, how did you learn about Pants?

Thank you Eric. We (my team) were looking at options to better manage our codebase in a monorepo we created at the start of this year. We came across Pants along with Bazel and chose Pants because of its capability to work better with Python. I am currently working on creating a plugin and will soon be posting queries in #general 😃

Sure! I am trying to create a goal to trigger our own proprietory build system for libraries in the monorepo.

Oh neat! We set out to design Pants 2 to be as flexible as possible so that custom workflows like that are viable and using Pants 2 alongside other build systems is not disruptive. So please do let us know how that goes. Because we do want to ensure that the real world experience of doing things like that is as good as we intended. Your feedback would be really useful for helping smooth out any bumps.

Hello @bored-glass-58755! I don't think we have met but I also work at BlackRock. So you aren't alone in thinking Pants can help the firm. It looks like you are based in NY? We should get together and chat. I'd love to hear about your plans and offer support. Full disclosure: I have a long history with the project and the folks on this thread. But at least my bias is well-informed ;)
