...so, i noticed something while playing with pants on my personal linux laptop that seems related. so i checked out as far back as

HEAD~200

and experienced the same error each time, on my osx laptop. on my linux laptop now, when i select

1.5.0.dev2

in

pants.ini

, i get

this does NOT occur if i select

1.5.0.dev1

, or anything earlier. i still don't really know why checking out a much earlier version wouldn't have allowed me to build a working native engine dylib on osx, but there is at least some weird behavior on a totally different linux environment as well (in the exact same place, although this shared object has an invalid ELF header error instead of being unable to find the

initnative_engine

symbol).
