I'll fix my docker build troubleshooter too, dropping the option. I think you both were right, it's better with just “old => new”.

I might have https://github.com/pantsbuild/pex/issues/1550 + a Pants upgrade to Pex 2.1.60 ready, but we'll see. Definitely not a blocker, and likewise, I can cut more rcs this week.

ok… acknowledging that this is fairly arbitrary and that there are two more inbound picks (#13896 and #13945), i think i’m going to cut once the current picks have landed. this isn’t usually how rcs are used, but as mentioned: hoping to land the JVM examples this evening before disappearing for the holidays. given that: release prep for 2.9.0rc1: https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/pull/13948
