if i don’t ban `#` signs in parameters, then `t@k=v#gen` remains legal, but is parsed with parameters `{'k': 'v#gen'}` rather than with a generated name.

it seems like as an ease of use thing, banning hash signs there might be better, even if folks then need to use aliases in more cases.

yeah banning hash in parameters makes sense to me. Aliases make that possible also - if your value includes `#`, then use an alias
