I need to make some internal changes to the JVM and Python implementations of the

UserGenerateLockfiles

rules so that they can give reference to environments, and just want an idea of how careful I need to be

oh, like if plugin authors are using the generic APIs? I don't know of anyone doing it. But changes should still be documented in plugin upgrade guide etc
