Tangential, but any time I think about Github PRs and Linux:

Oh god. Yeah, like most levers, GitHub as amplified both desirable and undesirable elements.

This feels more like "I need to pad my resume and want to say I've committed to the Linux kernel" more than anything.

Exactly though. Slap an easy web UI with buttons and a social network and that stuff pops up! Take that away, it goes away.
