Is there an existing ticket or page tracking all of the various uv integration work that's been happening or currently in flight? I ask because this is something I've been following off and on for some time now (and would like to contribute too, though time has not permitted thus far) and there are several different PRs open right now across pants and uv to make this possible.

Might be a question for @happy-kitchen-89482 - not sure where this is at the moment myself. We should have a tracking issue, but I think it was mostly a tracking discussion so far

I am now actively working on this, in the context of the new Python backend. Integrating uv into the existing backend is not being worked on AFAIK (although possibly some of my work might be back-portable), so if you're motivated to do so...

What's the dev status of the new Python backend? Any related issues or PRs yet?
