Hello everybody! I’m currently evaluating the viability of pants for a monorepo (mostly in python). Very excited for all the stuff that I’ve seen, already built a PoC for some of our microservices. It feels like magic when all the setup is working as expected.

I already stumbled with some issues using the java backend and pom files, for python, still exploring the idea of initially having
N
resolvers for our
N
services sharing

local libs, to eventually consolidate some of those resolvers into (ideally) one. Maybe I’m being too ambitious but I’m still exploring.
BTW recently I went to PyCon US, I didn’t saw much mention of pants, did someone from the core team attended this last edition in Pittsburgh?

Hi everyone! We're evaluating/almost getting our monorepo setup in Pants at Soundtrackyourbrand. It's exciting and challenging enough to get through. But hopefully we get to contribute to some of those issues too 🙌

Thank you and hi everyone! I'm a software developer based in Berlin, Germany. We're just starting with our product (check it out: interloom.io!) and we decided to host the code in a monorepo. During my previous job I was part of an initiative to migrate the build process to Pants. Back then, we managed to dramatically reduce the build times. Now, being a new project (mixture of python for the backend and ML, and React using TypeScript) I decided to using Pants from the beginning. We're still going uphill learning the ins-and-outs of 👖 but the decision is based on the idea that it will give us a frictionless CI/CD workflows.

@great-art-3505 feel free (to continue) to ask questions in #general if things are confusing!

Re pycon - we had a lot of representation in SLC in 2022 and 2023 (including myself), not sure who from the Pants community went this year. Hopefully I will go again in 2025!
