There may be some (small, getting smaller by the day) benefit to having some sort of 2.7 support, just noting that there are still vendors out there providing security fixes for Python 2.7. If I had the choice, I’d have a long-term-support version for Python 2.7, so that users can use Pants to assist with a migration, and have the current release track best practices in Python land.
