Yeah - we really have to do that anyway to vet the cost since all other languages will need to do dep inference in processes. If the cold-case cost is too high and our current Python dep inference speed regrsses then that's an important fix to jump on and will likely pull us into persistent processes (I think that's what people are calling support for daemons) which we're being pulled into anyhow.
