Hey all! doctrine.fr is a legal intelligence platform and we’re processing pretty much all the french legal content. We started using Pants in order to manage our several python projects in a more efficient way. We’re delighted with our current setup and I joined to get even more info and stories from other users. We’re mainly using python and started to add tens of Pylint plugins in particular and we’ve published a quick tutorial to illustrate how to make it work smoothly (on top of the doc that’s already really good): (on Medium) Industrialize Python code with Pylint plugins in Pants Feel free to reach out!

Awesome! Thanks for sharing! With the blog, I see only one resolve
pylint-plugin
. Do you also have one for your normal code?
a
Yes absolutely! Thanks for the double-check, I just added a default one as an example

The gist content might be cached, so a refresh is needed. I was actually thinking, I’ve used only gists and maybe I could illustrate with an example repo?

Oh that'd be cool! That's a way we know we need to improve our plugin docs -- gists are good but often it's helpful to see everything put together

I’ll add it in the next few days. Thanks a lot for the review

Oooh, great post! We should add a link to it from the resource hub in the docs

@hundreds-father-404 I published the demo repo here -> https://github.com/DoctrineLegal/demo-pants-pylint and added that link at the end of the post. @happy-kitchen-89482 feel free to use it in the resource hub or testimonials 🙂 . Let me know if you have any trouble getting it

Hey thanks for creating this! It's really terrific to see from any member of the community, let alone a newcomer. Have you considered proposing a talk to Pycon U.S. about pylint? Pycon's CFP is open through this Friday. I think with a modest amount of expansion on what you've already created here, this could be a quality 25-minute talk. You could flesh it out with more details about pylint's features and how to take best advantage.

Please do also consider adding doctrine.fr to Who Uses Pants https://www.pantsbuild.org/page/who-uses-pants. It's a quick form at the bottom of that page, with just 2 required fields (organization name and url) and 1 optional field (logo).

Thanks Carina! Looking into Pycon CFP and Who Uses Pants as we speak 👀

Terrific! If you need any help with Pycon, whether at proposal stage or talk prep, feel free to hit me up anytie. Helping folks speak about dev tooling is a pleasure. The talk doesn't have to be about Pants or PEX; I'm happy to help, regardless of subject. Good luck!

@happy-kitchen-89482 thanks for adding Doctrine.fr to Pants users page! What do I need to do to get anything in the resource hub (as mentioned above)?

Feel free to use the Suggest Edits button at the top of the page. It presents a diff to the maintainers, for review, and there is optional private discussion, so there's no risk of accidentally inserting something into the wrong place. Feel free to make liberal use of that throughout the site. We appreciate user feedback on making the docs more effective.
