Hi everyone simple smile, thanks for the welcome. I’m a co-founder at a games infrastructure as a service company, CapsuleAI, started last year where we are working on improving anti-cheat by using ML to detect cheaters. We’ve recently decided to move all of our code into a monorepo and so I started looking into build systems, but I have basically no experience in them 😆 so it’s slow going for now. I don’t think we’ll be at a level of maturity that really requires a tool like pants for a while, but I want to be able to take the plunge with confidence when we inevitably do. We use rust and python (surprise surprise) and tbh one of the biggest reasons I started looking at pants is because it seems like native rust support may happen here before other build systems get to it. I’m aware though that rust support is waiting on a partner before being properly situated on the roadmap. There’s a small possibility we could play some role in this, but I’m unsure if our codebase or expertise levels would be mature enough for this to make sense. Anyway, glad to be here, looking forward to checking out more!

Nice to meet you! I suspect @witty-crayon-22786 would be in the best position to tell you what we need from a rust design support partner. Meamtime, please do feel free to ask as many questions as you need, not only about Pants but about monorepos generally. Our community has a lot of monorepo maintainers, many of whom have developed an opinion or two about how to get the most out of that artitecture. ;-)
