@aloof-angle-91616 FWIW I put together https://crates.io/crates/num_enum as a basic implementation of something like what you’re describing which we use in pants for log levels; it does type-safe conversions of enums to FFIable numbers - doing something similar which does a full ffi binding could be very cool!
