This is a big theme of the docs across the board, like https://www.pantsbuild.org/v1.27/docs/python-lint-goal saying “We are working to add new functionality to Pants so that you will no longer need to do this.” The thinking is to be proactive with expectations. Rather than someone thinking “Lame, why can’t Pants do this.“, the thinking becomes “Oh, cool, they’re working on it.”
