I normally wouldn't push the issue, but https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/pull/17700 (VenvPex speedup) not only is great speedup, but it's semi-required to cherry-pick https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/pull/17678/ which has SEVERAL bugfixes for
