Why do we turn on coverage in CI if we seemingly don't use it? AFAICT it adds some decent overhead

If you look at the git log I'm sure you'll find we used coverage (coveralls) at one point, probably a very long time ago.

If TC is doing anything not publicly documented in the public project you need not concern yourself. Break it! That would be no way to be interacting with an OSS project.
