Why does JetBrains say that “Pants is a build tool by Twitter” in https://blog.jetbrains.com/scala/2019/08/08/integrating-developer-experiences-the-build-server-protocol-in-the-intellij-scala-plugin/#Further_work ? I thought Twitter was a member of the community, but not a corporate sponsor of pants.

Pants was originally developed at Twitter and then open sourced.

oh! That makes sense then. Cool.

Mind you, that was a long time ago. So that blog is pretty out of date.

Very. Twitter was still way involved back in 2019 when the post was written about Pants 1. They have never been a sponsor of Pants 2, which was released nearly 2 years ago (wow does time fly!). The lead sponsor of Pants 2 was and remains Toolchain.com, founded by Pants originators @happy-kitchen-89482 and @enough-analyst-54434. (Full-disclosure: @fast-nail-55400 and I are among its employees.)
