We were exploring the possibility of exposing the raw
argv
from the Python interpreter itself to Python code, which is currently not possible. If we had that available to us, and we could get PyOxidizer running with a standard interpreter, we probably could have made better progress on that particular approach
but PyOxidizer’s technically-correct interpreter is always going to be a problem for Pants/Pex

And many apps it seems. It seems like a great idea for new apps and less workable for pre-existing ones not written with certain restrictions in mind.
