Hi, we are are moving our project from MacOS to Windows and so far we had hard time understanding how to create Windows resolves and build PEXs for Windows. More specifically we want to generate Python lockfile for Windows and then use this resolve when defining pex_binary. How can it be done? Is this a right approach? Thanks!

Sadly, pex does not officially support windows. Pex will not officially support windows until all tests pass. This is the tracking issue for adding that support: https://github.com/pex-tool/pex/issues/2658 To see the latest Windows Test Report (to see how well that is progressing), • open one of the github actions runs here: https://github.com/pex-tool/pex/actions/workflows/windows-test-report.yml • Open the
report
job • Expand the
Run dorny/test-reporter@v1
task • Expand the
Creating test report Windows Test Results
section • Open the
Check run HTML
link. For example, the latest workflow run has a link on this line of output to this report page. The overall count of tests is at the top, and then the per-job results are just below that. Sadly the report output is truncated (hopefully there's a way around that, like using Job Summaries instead of check runs, reporting on each job's results in a separate job summary).

Got you, thanks!

Perhaps even more sadly, Pants will not be prepared for the day Pex does support Windows, since it doesn't. Pants maintainers really out to at least start building the rust engine on Windows and running it's tests.
