It seems that
uv pip
interpreters includes (
-r extra.txt
) relative to the current requirement file, whereas pants seems to take it relative to project root. Is there a way to get pants to include the file relative to the including file? Or at least relative to the BUILD file that has the
python_requirements
target?

Sorry, I'm not sure I follow the question. AIUI, pants doesn't interpret
-r
arguments anywhere. Can you share more information about your set-up? For instance, the
BUILD
files, any other relevant files, the command you're running and the error/problem you see?

I'm using a
requirements.txt
file with a
python_requirements
target. I use
pants generate-lockfiles
to build a lock for that requirements file. The file contains includes
-r extra.txt
which seem to work fine relative to build root. However, a
uv pip install -r requirements/requirements.txt
would try to find
extra.txt
relative to
requirements/
, not relative to
/
. So that's a small discrepancy.

Wow awesome, Tom.
