Hi all, this is a bit of an overdue but better late than never. My name is Achraf. I am a Software Engineer at Google. I have started investigating
Pants
for a personal project. So far I have been happy with the tooling, the docs, and the support from the community (thanks a lot to everyone who has helped me so far). I'd love to get to the point of contributing back (but so far I feel I am still onboarding). For anyone curious why I am trying
Pants
but not
Bazel
(see thread below)

I have experience with the internal version of
Bazel
called
Blaze
. To be honest I really like
Blaze
. But also I understand that there is a whole team behind it that makes it work for the languages at Google. As a singleton that's overkill.
Pants
provides a wholistic developper experience; from a build system, linters, checkers, to setting up an IDE.
Pants
is also custumizable. Protobuf support was a must for me thanks for whoever built it.
