Hello! I'm a former Googler, now at Weights &amp; Biases. I'm looking at whether Pants might be a good solution for building W&amp;B's multi-language SDK. I've tried Bazel in personal projects before but found it was too difficult to integrate with languages that weren't already well-supported (ironically: Dart, which I was using internally at Google), and I'm wondering if Pants' "adhoc_tool" is a solution to this.

Welcome! With enough time and patience, it may also be reasonable to consider adding a proper support for dart should you think Pants is what you need.

E.g. it's a lot easier to implement partial support for a new language by adding the dependency inference first so that you can list changed targets, transitively. Having this information, you can then feed this to the compile/test runners run outside of Pants
