<sarcasm> Thank you Jetbrains for deprecating the intellij-rust plugin but not making RustRover available as an Intellij Ultimate plugin. I did not know I wanted to pay you for Intellij Ultimate and RustRover because I guess Ultimate is not really the ultimate product. </sarcasm>

I think I first started with JB back in the day, using Resharper in 2010ish. I was very impressed and had an ultimate license for many years, but then stuff like VSCode came around, and XCode improved so much - could never justify paying for an IDE after that

Like many of our IDEs, the functionality of RustRover can be installed as a plugin in IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate.
https://blog.jetbrains.com/rust/2023/09/13/introducing-rustrover-a-standalone-rust-ide-by-jetbrains/ Did this end up not being true?

Ugh, looks like the rust plugin is not just deprecated but broken
Time to look at VS Code I guess

I tried finding a RustRover plugin in recent IntelliJ but could not find it. Maybe it is available for the early access edition, but if that is the case I shouldn't have to go to beta in order to keep the status quo. I’ve only still been using IntelliJ out of pure inertia at this point. But Jetbrains' recent actions have convinced me to ditch them (especially since my license is up for renewal).
