FYI I'm doing a spike on https://docusaurus.io/ -based documentation as well. TL;DR I like the UI/UX better, and it's very customizable. However, it comes at the price of complexiy (it's a full TS/React project)

What are the other options we're investigating? I've heard of some teams at work migrating to GitBook for user-facing docs.

I see! Had a quick look at Docusaurus, it looks quite powerful. Feels very similar to Hugo, which I have ran for a bunch of projects. Different tech-stacks though, and a bit different goals.

It's very involved. So both a pro and a con there.

Yeah. Though I guess if one commits to primarily using the markdown bits it doesn't get quite as involved? Though that also leaves a lot on the table in terms of cool stuff.
