Today I'll be thinking about https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/issues/16362 and the related issues and discussions. We used to use that workflow a lot at my old place and it was quite valuable, and I've wondered coming into the community if/how pants would handle it. I'll try to argue with myself for and against having that kind of thing be a part of pants itself and see if I can add 2 cents that aren't already there.
