Looking at https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/milestone/58 and https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/milestone/57, it looks like there's only a few issues/PRs pending for releasing 2.17, and from a quick look none of them seem blocking? Is there other work pending for 2.17 that's not there? Should any of the items already listed be considered blockers?

No, I think we can release 2.17.0! I will cut a final rc today
