Hi! Me and @acoustic-library-86413 are working on a fairly large Python / React project for Telenor here in Norway. We initially tried the monorepo approach back in 2017, but had to give it up due to insufficient tooling. As the project has grown the developer experience has plummeted, and even the smallest of updates between components are insufferable. We've built our CI pipelines around GitLab, and we are starting to reach the limit of what GitLab can do for us in terms of caching and build optimization. We've done a fair bit of research the last months, and decided to give it a go. There have been a lot of development on the tooling side, and Pants seems to fit the bill, especially for us with a repository containing 95% Python code. I'm especially excited to try out the remote cache. We have an on-prem GitLab instance, HP Scality (S3) and 10g links between everything so I am really excited to see what Pants+REAPI in CI can do for us!
