I'm the release manager today. It looks like a dev release and a 2.17 rc are ready to go. I won't be starting until the evening and finishing later in the weekend.

If you want to avoid any potential hiccups I can hold off merging, even with approval, until the next releaser

Although if <@U06A03HV1>  is back Monday (like for the meetup) then I would happily hold off for his review.

Ok, proceeded since that was not in. Also amending to not release 2.17.x - its status has not changed since last week - the "showstopper" is still not in there.
