Hi everyone. I'm a software engineer at BusPatrol....
# welcome

Hi everyone. I'm a software engineer at BusPatrol. My team is working on a new monorepo in our org. We're starting to implement Pants, initially with packaging for deploying lambdas to AWS but hopefully for testing soon as well. I met some of the maintainers and contributors at PyCon. I'd love to help contribute at some point as well!

Cool, we love getting new contributors! Shoutout to @happy-kitchen-89482 @ancient-vegetable-10556 @witty-crayon-22786 @bitter-ability-32190 @rhythmic-morning-87313 for repping Pants at Pycon last week. I hope you got to meet that whole gang. :-)

Oh yeah! 👋 We always hear about super interesting companies through meeting people here and in person. I think yours was tied for top two, honestly. The other (not using Pants.... yet) being someone who lives in Alaska and helps researchers who study volcanoes there

Whaaaaat? I hope they're using Pants to do that, just so we get to hear that case study. Wow.
b
They were not, as far as I remember.
b
Well, in the future hopefully. A gal can dream.
c
Yes. Awesome group of people at the Pants Open Space discussion!

At the latest we'll see you next year at PyCon. Bring a friend or two to the Open Space 🙂

And feel free to bring Pants to other Python conferences. A lightning talk or session talk is a great place to discuss the things you're working on and whatever role Pants plays in that. @bitter-ability-32190 just did a talk about build engineering at PyTexas that was very well received.

I'm also waiting to hear back about a Pants+AI/ML talk for SciPy this year. We also accept blog posts, case studies, etc... We love hearing about Pants, both good and constructive 🙂 And feel free to ask for help if you have an idea but are stuck or want some peer eyes on it!
At PyCon and in the Python community you'll hear many people say (and it's campy, but it's also true) "Came for the tech, stayed for the people". We try and foster the same experience here at Pants

truth!

Except for the part about it being campy. I object. The respect for people in Python community is my favorite feature, and I think it's very sincere which is what makes it all the more endearing.

Indeed. The build/pants open space at pycon was 💯.

If the talk by @bitter-ability-32190 is available online, I'd love to check it out.
