I've heard good things about this conf, I think I'll apply. Might be good for other Pants content too https://sessionize.com/strange-loop-2023

I’ve heard incredibly good things about it; they lean FP-heavy, so if you can talk about stuff that appeals to that crowd, you’ll do well
I won’t be going because no health and safety policy

+1 it had a great reputation pre-pandemic. Everyone I know who has gone, or spoken, had great things to say. A pity about the lack of health and safety policy. I find that puzzling.

it is also definitely their last event, so if past programs look interesting, you should definitely consider going.

Why is it definitely their last event?

because the lead organiser has decided to stop running the event
and it’s his baby

no health and safety policy
What's the usual content of things like this?

Some conferences have them (the one I run has this: https://2023.northbaypython.org/code-of-conduct ).

oh cool, so I can harass people at Strange Loop with no liability or consequences 😄
I guess policies like that mean "we will take these things seriously, and they won't get swept under the rug"

Oh whoops, I linked the code of conduct.
They have one of those. I meant to link this: https://2023.northbaypython.org/health-and-safety-policy
