For the input root, the only option that I've noticed could apply is using the

working_dir

argument which I have set to be the same path

submodules/obscura-plugins/plugins

. Not sure if this needs to use a path inside of the pants cache (the v1 job we have was provided a temp path

.pants.d/pyprep/compile-cython/9c44cc2743fa

or similar).
