a somewhat-related note that may describe (i just realized) why i hopped on this during hackweek is that i am extremely mad about the company that's making a proprietary highly parallel scala compiler they're calling hydra, and i am trying to replicate their result with open source code, and i had just spent far too many evenings attempting to productionize an alternative experiment on top of https://github.com/twitter/rsc which would handily beat theirs (now made much easier by being able to lean on pants v2 the way i always wanted to)
