there's a failure in the py3 test shard for the commit i just merged: https://travis-ci.org/pantsbuild/pants/jobs/424559912. it seems very likely to me to be my fault because of a change I made to that test (which is unrelated to my code), to make this PR pass travis previously. should i probably revert this change to master?
