Sounds good! So with the dev releases, would the email to Pants users go something like this? “1.15.x will be the first version to support Python 3. You can try this out as a beta now with this week’s dev release by doing x.” And then when we make the final cut send a followup that it’s (hopefully) graduating from beta to full support and we’ll support running with Py2 up to the final release of 1.17?

That sounds great to me! Much better scoped than forcing into 1.14

i would continue to advise against waiting until things are completely perfect to announce the beta... dev releases are supposed to be more collaborative... the folks using them are generally more willing to help fix things

When is the first dev release scheduled? The more time we can get people to test Py3 the better. I’d love to see it hopefully make it into dev0

Agreed. Those bug fixes just need to be addressed before the 1.15.rc0 so that we can hopefully graduate it from beta to full support. For now, prioritize getting it out to people to use.
