I'm releaser today, do we need any stable releases?

I think we wanted to release 1.17.x but should probably hold off because we need to land <https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/pull/7884> and Borja is gone for the weekend now with London time.

Would you be able to possibly release it on Monday?

Maybe 1.16.x? It seems we've had several commits, and I don't think we plan on introducing new ones

I think in general release branches tend to end up effectively owned by the person who cut them… We should maybe rephrase the release page to say the decision point is between dev(N+1) or rc0

In that case I will do a delayed dev release today

Not on my end. Confirmed we won’t be able to drop Py2 until Wednesday :confused:
