@limited-country-20626 really good to focus on a series of checks to avoid making mistakes in the future (https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/pull/8570#discussion_r341899721). i would be interested in adding a pre-commit hook or extend the changelog script to also apply some automated checks to the added notes (is it formatted correctly, does it contain all of the changelog entries, is it split into sections with the correct titles, ?) if that would be useful
