I think it’s frowned upon in Pants Slack. People who want to receive notifications already will have them on

Instead, you can say something like “cc <@UKPS08ZGW>”

ping unto others the way you would like to be pinged, heh

but: the same way we send specific codereviewers, it's a good idea to send specific pings, even if they are in a public channel for visibility (a good thing!)
