Thoughts on this email for the b1 release?
Copy code
The second beta for the 2.0.x series is now available on PyPI.

This brings a couple of bug fixes, including better signal-handling with ctrl-c and Pantsd invalidating less often. Some links:
* 2.0 Upgrade guide
* Detailed changelog

Some folks have been wondering: when will the stable 2.0.0 release be? We're tracking the project here. tl;dr: the main features remaining are Protobuf plugins like GRPC and adding back an improved version of the `bundle` goal. The rest is documentation and polish on things like error messages for typos on the command line.

Generally, even though it's technically a "beta", 2.0.0b1 provides a more polished experience than 1.30.1. For context: if we had not forked 2.0, we would have released 1.34.0 by now.

Thank you to this release's contributors:

  17 Eric Arellano
   8 Greg Shuflin
   6 Stu Hood
   3 Asher Foa
   2 Benjy Weinberger
   1 Tom Dyas

Thank you for everyone's feedback so far! Please let us know how we can to upgrade!
This is in response to questions from ~2-4 users the past two weeks about this being a beta, and the implications of that

I wouldn't commit to those specific items being blockers, we might change that

that looks awesome.
i would still reference the items in the text, and just soften the language
because it helps provide perspective on the “kinds” of things that we’re still considering (i.e.: none of it is scary large)
