@dry-analyst-73584: if you file an issue about how to make a better general purpose incremental compile test and better yet, plan to followon and actually implement it, I wouldn't be opposed to marking that checkstyle incremental compile test with @pytest.mark.fail and a TODO pointing to the issue and a comment explaining why it is broken.
