Hi all, happy to announce that the first alpha release in the 2.x series, 2.0.0a0, is out! https://pypi.org/project/pantsbuild.pants/2.0.0a0/ There is one major caveat, which is that we have temporarily disabled protobuf support, while we work through a performance issue it causes in rule graph construction. If you're using protobuf, then please hold off on this release, but otherwise we'd really appreciate it if you could try it out in a branch and report back on any issues, here or via github (https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/issues/new). Rest assured that we will be restoring protobuf support ASAP, and certainly before we create 2.0.0 release candidates. This release puts us on the home stretch towards the epic 2.0 milestone.
