Hello, is there a way to configure the <https://www.pantsbuild.org/docs/protobuf-python#buf-format-and-lint-protobuf|buf linter> with a buf.yaml?

based on the <https://www.pantsbuild.org/docs/reference-buf|docs>, looks like its not supported currently

I tried putting a `buf.yaml` along with my `.proto` files, thinking the buf executable will pick it up

Not currently, no. The only way is to provide the raw config content as `--config`. Someone said they’d create a PR for it a while back, but don’t think they ever did.

That would be awesome. But the default config works for us now. So not very urgent :slightly_smiling_face:
