While I can edit sub pages of https://www.pantsbuild.org/ I don't seem able to edit the main page which needs some tweaking. I am the impatient sort and just want to start using pants and could care less about how great it is, though it does sound pretty special! The 'Getting Started' button would better be renamed 'Welcome' and a new button added called 'Getting Started' that would link to https://www.pantsbuild.org/docs/getting-started. Y

Thanks for the suggestion! The website is maintained using Readme.com, which does not have a Suggest Edits button for the home page. Only admins can access that page's Readme.com editor. There are misc other pages on the site that similarly lack a Suggest Edits button. We don't get to choose that, but are looking forward to migrating away from Readme next year. Most likely to sphinx or jupyter-book.

Well, but all the docs are in the repo now! And can be edited there.
Oh, I guess not the main page? Grrrr
Yeah, we really need to move off readme
@tall-family-5367 could you put your suggestions in a github issue? https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/issues

Would it be too cutesy (or confusing) if the buttons were "Learn More" and "Try on Pants", instead of "Welcome" and "Get Started"?
h
I think it might be too confusing...

As a Native English speaker that would be ok. 'Learn more' is more descriptive.  I wonder what nonnative speakers  would make of 'Try on Pants', maybe 'How to use Pants' ?

How about "Learn more..." and "Get started"

As long as there is another button on the page, you can iterate.
