Has anyone tried to speed up a multi-target docker build by pulling the base image being built? Pants doesn't seem to be using it. I think it's a pants-side problem because pants is running a build on the base image directly

You mean you'd want pants to build the base image, push it, and then reuse it from remote repository later instead of rebuilding it locally?

Basically, I have the hash in the tag so unless I am explicitly trying to force a build I would prefer to use the existing built base. The pushing is fine as is now, but when I pull the image on another computer, pants doesn't seem to use it reliably. I'm not totally clear on why dockers built in caching is also not just solving this either.
