Yes. I am setting up a buildkit server but I was wondeing if pants would already do that

If Pants' remote execution works, it'll just be shipping the whole

docker build ...

invocation off to the remote runner (i.e. running that whole process on a remote runner), rather than having the

docker build ...

run locally and internally connect to a remote docker builder. This may still be helpful, though, for instance, if the remote runner is a persistent machine and thus has a useful docker builder cache. That said, I don't know if it's possible to execute the

docker_image(...)

packaging remotely. I've not personally used remote execution.
