Hey all another question, how are people deploying `python_distibutions`` in a docker container via pants?? our current workflow is build with pants, copy and do a final pip install in the docker container?

Have you considered using a
pex_binary
? You just provide the entrypoint file and then it will build you an executable that you can COPY into the docker image and set the CMD/RUN instruction to run your pex).
In my opinion,
python_distributions
are more useful for publishing your python library to pypi, but a
pex
would work better for making it easy to run.

that would make sense except that I don't have an entry point I just need the docker container isntalled with a custom enviroment

@elegant-florist-94385 I've found it quite difficult to get a pex going to be honest with https://pantsbuild.slack.com/archives/C046T6T9U/p1745009883514949 as an issue just on an M1 mac, where I will have to at some point support cross platform builds, given my code snippets, do you ahave any links to working
pex_binary
and docker combinations with pants? because it feels to me, just lining everything up in a dist and building a docker container seems 100x easier than the struggles of today!
