I'm having a hard time configuring `pants_ignore` to automatically ignore everything in a top level directory except for paths with a specially named subdirectory. The docs say it respects gitignore, but I'm not sure why it's not working. I've thrown chatgpt at it to try a couple things, but no such luck. Any recommendations?

My latest attempt looks like this

  "/my_dir/*",
  "!/my_dir/**/special_dir/",
  "!/my_dir/**/special_dir/**",```

This has worked in other places where we only go a single layer deep, but I think the fact that `special_dir` lives somewhere deeper is making it not work

Is that syntax expected to work in `.gitignore` ?

Seems like it was. It wasn’t easy to test, but I could try it out.
