@curved-television-6568 you reviewed my nfpm backend proposal: would you please look over https://github.com/pantsbuild/pants/pull/18914 ? So far, I've only created the package targets and the metadata fields with all of the field help text. There were a lot of fields, so I added a

pants.backends.nfpm.fields

subpackage to organize all of them. Before I start tackling the

contents

field (which will include most of the rules I think), would you please see what you think of organizing the fields like this? And glance over the help text if you have time?
